A Refuge for Young Mothers
Casa Buen Pastor, another extension of Hogar de Niños, provides a refuge to young
single mothers and their children. For many Honduran girls, this basic need is never
met. Sometimes home, a place of supposed safety, becomes a place of abuse at the
hands of fathers, stepfathers, and stepbrothers. Often these girls become pregnant
and once they have children, they have nowhere to go. They and their infant children
end up on the streets. At Casa Buen Pastor, these girls are now living under the
care of a Christian staff, learning that their Heavenly Father is the only one who
will never disappoint them.
